New Fan Art: Stardust

StardustThis is a piece of fan art of the brave and beautiful Jyn Erso (played by Felicity Jones) from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. I’ll be uploading this same illustration to both my DeviantArt account and my pixiv account in a little while.

“Rogue One” — My Impressions

OK, I’ll try to make this brief, although I won’t break my thoughts up into bullet points like I did for The Force Awakens last year. Oh, and as always, there won’t be any major spoilers.

First of all, in case you are not aware, Rogue One tells the story of how the Rebel Alliance managed to get their hands on the plans of the evil Galactic Empire’s super weapon, the Death Star, plans which they eventually put to very good use in Star Wars: A New Hope.

One Month to Go for “Rogue One”!

Jyn Erso MinifigureHere in Australia, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story opens in theaters in exactly one month from today, on Thursday December 15! And as you can see from the image above, I finally caved in and bought Lego set 75155 (Rebel U-wing Fighter), because I really, really wanted a Jyn Erso minifigure! I haven’t built the U-wing yet, though, and I don’t plan on building it until I work out where I can display it. But once I do build it, I’ll definitely upload some photos of it; it’s without a doubt one of the coolest Star Wars ships that I’ve seen in a very long time.😊

“Rogue One” Gag

I’ve noticed there’s been a plethora of so-called “International Trailers” and “TV Spots” for the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story on YouTube. They show some neat new shots and I had wanted a link to them here, but I can’t find what the original source for them is, so in the end I decided not to. In place of that, though, I’ve uploaded a little Rogue One gag I made.

Rogue One GagI originally started drawing this because I thought the petite Felicity Jones looked kind of cute in that over-sized helmet, but then I decided to make a gag out it. I hope you like it!🙂 Till next time, au revoir, arrivederci and may the force be with you!

New “Rogue One” TV Spot Released!

Rogue One TV SpotA new TV spot has been released for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story! It has a couple of exciting new shots, like the one of Jyn Erso and her Rebel comrades charging into battle, which is different to the shot that was in the very first trailer. You can check out the TV Spot below.

So What Day Is It Today?

Last year, the day for the release of a heap of The Force Awakens goodies was dubbed “Force Friday”. It was a big deal, with the live-streamed unboxing of TFA merchandise taking place in several cities around the world. This year, though, the day for the release of the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story goodies (which is today) doesn’t seem to have the same level of hype surrounding it. For starters, it doesn’t even seem to have it’s own official name! Nevertheless, I’ve decided to commemorate today with this little photo manipulation.

The Final Boss AppearsIt’s just a montage of footage from the RO trailer, plus some graphics I took from Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (which is a great old Star Wars game, by the way). I’m sure I’m not the only one who thought this part of the trailer looked very videogame-like.😆

Last year, I practically rushed out to buy the TFA Lego set of Rey’s speeder, because I really wanted a minifigure of Rey. This year, however, I won’t be doing the same to get a minifigure of Jyn Erso, even though I really want one of her as well. This is because the only Lego set that she appears in is the impressive but expensive U-wing set. I’m hoping that there will be another, more reasonably-priced set with Jyn in it in the second wave of RO Lego sets (if there is a second wave, of course).

“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” Trailer Released!

The first (and perhaps only?) full trailer for the upcoming Disney/Lucasfilm film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has been uploaded to Youtube!

I have to say, I’m very impressed with what I’ve seen of Rogue One so far: I like the rundown, gritty feel to it, which is classic Star Wars and the film’s protagonist, Jyn Erso (who is played by Felicity Jones), looks like a great character. In fact, I’m so impressed with it that I would actually go as far as to say that I think Rogue One will be better than The Force Awakens. But of course, only time will tell if that’s the case…

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story comes out in theatres in December. I can hardly wait! Till next time, au revoir, arrivederci and may the force be with you!
