Happy Birthday Phoebe Cates!

The very lovely and talented former actress Phoebe Cates celebrated her birthday on July 16, so this is a tad late, but as they say better late than never! The picture above is just a quick sketch I did of Ms Cates as Kate Beringer, from the film Gremlins (and its sequel). Kate is one of my favourite heroines of all time.😊

Daily Heroine: Kate Beringer

Today’s Daily Heroine is: Kate Beringer (played by the angelic Phoebe Cates), from Gremlins and Gremlins 2: The New Batch. Yes, Kate was my Featured Heroine from only a few weeks ago, but I did state that the first week of Daily Heroines would be my favourite heroines of all time. And in the film category, I decided I just couldn’t go past Kate (although there are others who I consider equally appealing). As I said in the aforementioned post, Kate is beautiful, brave and caring, and I have had a crush on her ever since the 80s.😆

I’m always on the look out for new interesting and likeable heroines, so if you have a particular favourite, please tell me about her! Till tomorrow, au revoir, arrivederci and may the force be with you.😊

Featured Heroine: Kate Beringer

Every year, when Christmas rolls around, I inevitably get the urge to rewatch what I like to refer to as my favourite Christmas movie of all time: Gremlins. It had a likeable hero. It had an exciting adventure. And to top it all off, it had the gorgeous Phoebe Cates.

LEGO Dimensions Trailer for E3 Released!

A trailer for the 2016 wave of Lego Dimensions sets has just been released and there’s plenty of cool stuff in it! You can check the trailer out below.

As someone who grew up in the 80s, I’m really excited by the Gremlins, The Goonies and E.T. sets. And although I couldn’t see it the trailer, there are reports that Knight Rider will also have a set. I hope this is true, because I absolutely loved Knight Rider as a kid. But I don’t know how many (if any) of these sets I would actually try to get: the Lego Dimensions sets are a bit pricey, after all. As a matter of fact, I still haven’t got the Back to the Future set from last year. Back to the Future is one of my favourite movies of all time.[^_^]

I’ll definitely be writing some follow-up posts once these sets are released, but for the time being, au revoir, arrivederci and may the force be with you!
