“His Dark Materials” HBO Series Trailer Released!

HBO has released a trailer for a new series titled His Dark Materials, starring Dafne Keen (who was, incidentally, fabulous in the 2017 film Logan). I’m not familiar with the source material of His Dark Materials, namely the trilogy by Philip Pullman, but I have seen The Golden Compass, which was a 2007 film adaptation of the first of these books. I thought The Golden Compass was reasonably entertaining; the world it is set in, where magic and science co-exist, was interesting. However, because no sequels were ever produced, I don’t know how the story turns out. Hopefully the HBO series will be able to cover the entire trilogy.

His Dark Materials is due to be released by HBO later this year. Till next time, au revoir, arrivederci and may the force be with you!😊

Not-for-profit “Nausicaä” Fan Short Film Being Made!

A Brazilian fan of Hayao Miyazaki, named Chris Tex, has recently announced that he is making a short, live-action film based on Miyazaki‘s animated feature film, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. The “official trailer” only has a minute amount of actual footage, but what is shown looks pretty impressive when you consider that this is a self-funded project that will be available for free. I for one am looking forward to seeing the completed film.😀

Till next time, au revoir, arrivederci and may the force be with you!😊

Ahsoka “Rebels” Compilation Clip Released!

For the most part, I don’t like the direction Disney has taken Star Wars, my once dearest franchise. But I was happy that Disney XD put out this compilation on YouTube of what I assume are all of Ahsoka Tano’s scenes in Rebels (Disney’s Star Wars animated series that ended last year). As a big fan of Ahsoka, I’ve always been curious as to what she did on Rebels, but I had no desire to trudge through four seasons of it just to see mere glimpses of her here and there. I found this particular compilation to be quite entertaining, despite the fact that in my opinion the character models and animation in Rebels are inferior to those in Star Wars: The Clone Wars (from 2008). I guess it was simply great to see Ahsoka in action again.😁

Amicia from “Innocence: A Plague Tale” Cosplay Guide Released!

At this moment, there is only one game I’m hanging out for and that game is Innocence: A Plague Tale, developed by Asobo Studios. It’s coming out on May 15 and it is a third person adventure game set in a plague-infested medieval France. You play as Amicia de Rune, a young girl trying save herself and her younger brother from threats both animal and human. It certainly looks like it’s going to be a great game, but the reason for this particular post is not so much about the game itself. You see, last week A Plague Tale‘s twitter account did a very cool thing: they released a PDF cosplay guide for Amicia. It contains many beautiful, highly-detailed images of her (some of which you can see at the beginning of this post). Now, of course I’m not going to be doing any cosplay based on this character myself, but this guide will also prove invaluable for anyone who may want to do some fan art of Amicia. Like me.😋 If you are interested in getting this guide, please click on the link below.

If I do decide to draw some fan art of Amicia, it probably won’t be before I play A Plague Tale, which as I said above is still a couple of weeks away from being released. But that’s all for now. Till next time, au revoir, arrivederci and may the force be with you!😊

“Hanna” Season 2 Announced!

Amazon Prime Video has just announced that Hanna will get a second season! I thought the first season was great (I’ve watched it three times already😋), so I’m looking forward to seeing how the story will be expanded on. And, of course, I hope the quality of the production can be maintained.

On Twitter, Amazon Prime Video posted a short thank you video from Esme Creed-Miles (who portrays the titular character in Hanna), suggesting that Esme herself only just heard about season two getting the go-ahead and that principal photography has yet to commence. The first season was released about a year after its principal photography began, so even if they started shooting season two tomorrow (which is obviously never going to happen), the show would not premiere before April next year. As a completely wild guess (hope?), maybe Hanna will return in September 2020.

I’ll definitely be posting more info on Hanna if I come across it in the future, but for now, au revoir, arrivederci and may the force be with you!😊

News: I’ve signed up to Fantia

I’ve just created an account on Fantia which is a website, based in Japan, that allows creators to receive financial support from fans via subscriptions. So in other words, it’s a Patreon-like website

This is my fourth attempt at this sort of endeavour. I’ve tried Patreon, but they frown upon adult material. I’ve also tried Enty and pixiv’s Fanbox, which like Fantia are both based in Japan, but you need a Japanese bank account to receive payments. As for Fantia, it was a website that I’d been aware of for a while, but I hadn’t really looked into because I had the feeling it was in the same boat as Enty and Fanbox. And that appears to have been the case, at least until recently. That’s because today I found out that Fantia now allows you to receive payments through PayPal.

To be honest, I have no idea how things will go this time round. After all, this kind of thing is tricky and very unpredictable. But if you’re interested in following me on Fantia, you can do so by signing up to my free plan (which is called the “Normal Plan”). This plan will allow you to see the same sort of images that I’ve been posting on pixiv for years. There’s also a ¥400 “Bronze Super Plan”, which will let you access larger-sized images. Anyway, here’s the link:

I only have a single picture on my Fantia gallery at the moment, but I’ll be adding more in the coming days. I’ll also try and add another plan or two. That’s all for now. Till next time, au revoir, arrivederci and may the force be with you!😊
