This exquisite figure by Max Factory of Marie Rose (from the fighting game DEAD OR ALIVE 5 Last Round) will be released next year in August, although you can already order it from various online stores, such as the GOODSMILE ONLINE SHOP.
Today (June 30) is the Japanese “virtual” YouTuber Kizuna Ai’s (first?) birthday. So Happy Birthday, Ai-chan!😊 You can visit her YouTube channel by clicking here. She also has a gaming channel, which you can visit by clicking here. And if you’re simply wondering who Kizuna Ai is, you can read the post I wrote about her in April by clicking here.
Till next time, au revoir, arrivederci and may the force be with you!😊
Tumblr can be a great way to find out about things that are trending in pop culture. As an example, I first found out about Miraculous, the French 3D animated female superhero show, on Tumblr. And today, I found out about Kizuna Ai.
According to Tumblr, Kizuna Ai is “a virtual anime YouTuber girl created with Miku Miku Dance”, but in her own words, she is simply the world’s first virtual YouTuber.
Ai first appeared in December last year, but she already has about 80 YouTube videos. That’s some output! I’ve only seen a handful of them so far, but one thing I can already say is this: she’s great! She has a really cute voice and her dialogue is very funny. Of course, the virtual YouTuber thing is a bit of a stretch: there’s a voice actor involved and possibly a separate motion actor, too. In fact, the whole thing is apparently a professional project. According to ouenblog.com (which is a Japanese blog devoted to YouTubers), Kizuna Ai is the product of a new company called Activ8, which probably created her to promote many the services they offer. One of these services is something they refer to as “character business production”. Ai herself has her own website, kizunaai.com, where you are able to download Ai’s 3D model for free!
But only on the PS4 and XBox One versions.
The iconic Mai Shiranui is the busty, scantily-clad female ninja from SNK’s Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters series of games, which I’ve never actually played, even back in their heyday (when they were extremely popular arcade games). But I do have have fond memories of watching my friend play, often as Mai. And while those old 2D sprites were pretty cute, I think this new incarnation of Mai looks a whole lot better, don’t you agree? [^_^]
If you play videos games, you will without a doubt be aware that E3, the world’s biggest electronic entertainment event, is happening right now. This means a lot of new clips from upcoming video games will be cropping up. The one that caught my eye today was this sort of teaser trailer for Resident Evil VII, which is coming out on January 24, 2017 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
The logo is pretty cool, isn’t it? Thumbs up to the person who came up with it! [^_^] I’m a big RE fan, so I’ll be keeping on eye on this particular game, but I wonder exactly where it fits in the grand RE universe, because it seems a bit different to the previous games. Not that I’ve seen it, but I get a kind of The X-files vibe from the trailer and there doesn’t seem to be any familiar characters around, at least as far as I can tell. Also, this game will be playable in VR, which will probably make it a whole lot scarier for those who have VR headsets!
I’ll definitely write further posts on Resident Evil VII in the future, but for, au revoir, arrivederci and may the force be with you!
