It turns out that today, May 12, is International Nurses Day. So, feeling inspired by Milo Manara’s illustrations of heroic women (see my earlier post on Mr Manara for more details), I decided to draw my own tribute to those fighting to save the lives of others, whilst risking their own. They truly are heroic.
In recognition of International Women’s Day, I present to you a photograph I took earlier this year of a replica of the famous Fearless Girl statue, which is currently on display in Melbourne’s Federation Square. The original was for a time positioned opposite the Charging Bull statue on Wall Street, where it garnered quite a bit of attention back in 2017. Regardless of the reasons behind its creation, I think Fearless Girl is a wonderful piece of art.😊
