I’ve decided to try a new type of fan art, which I’ve coined “Heroine Headshots”. I often get the urge to draw fan art of female characters I find interesting, but I don’t really have the drive these days to do full-blown illustrations, so hopefully these mini-illustrations will satisfy that urge. Anyway, first up is Yumi (AKA Thémis in French) frim Ulysses 31, who I wrote a brief post on at the beginning of this year. As I said in that post, I’m not really a fan of Ulysses 31, but I’ve always had a soft spot for cute alien girls😁
Today is December 30, the birthday of one of my biggest childhood crushes, Maureen Flannigan. And so, as I’ve done for several years now, I’ve drawn a picture of Ms Flannigan as Evie Garland from the 80s sitcom Out of this World. Like last year’s drawing, I imagined Out of this World as a Japanese Comic and I used the very first episode, where Evie learns the truth about her Dad, for inspiration. I simply adore Ms Flannigan’s hairstyles in this episode, especially this one. But I really do wonder… How many more years will it be before these drawings actually start looking like Evie?😅 Anyway, due to the fact that today, in my part of the world, it will be ridiculously hot (43°C!), this will most definitely be my final post for 2019. So until 2020, au revoir, arrivederci and may the force be with you!😊
I’ve uploaded a new illustration, for mature people, of Ahsoka Tano from The Clone Wars to my pixiv gallery. I’ve drawn Ahsoka, who is my favourite female character from the Star Wars universe, many times before, but today after listening to some music from The Clone Wars, I got the urge to draw her once again in her classic look. This was done completely from memory, so there might an error here or there, but overall I think it came out pretty well. Till next time, au revoir, arrivederci and may the force be with you!😊
Today would have been the 79th birthday of the late German actress Marion Michael. She is perhaps best known for the role of Liane, a quintessential jungle girl, which she played in two fifties’ films, called Liane, Jungle Goddess and Nature Girl and the Slaver (Liane, das Mädchen aus dem Urwald and Liane, die weiße Sklavin respectively in German). This picture is a reimagining of Liane, Jungle Goddess as a Japanese comic (in Japanese, the title for this film is simply Naked Woman of the Jungle).
Liane, Jungle Goddess is readily available on the internet in English and I suggest you search it out if you are a fan of classic pulp fiction about jungle girls. I found it quite entertaining and Marion Michael is absolutely stunning in it, no matter what state of dress she happens to be in.😋 Till next time, au revoir, arrivederci and may the force be with you!😊
