New Trailer for “Blade Runner: Black Lotus”

This is I believe the second trailer for Blade Runner: Black Lotus, which is being produced by Toonami and Crunchyroll for adult swim. From memory, the first one centred almost exclusively on over the top action sequences, and as a result it was apparently not received very well. This trailer, on the other hand, shows a different side of Black Lotus, a more suspenseful one, which makes it seem a whole lot more appealing to me. It definitely might be worth checking out when it’s released next month (in countries where adult swim is available, at least). Incidentally, the overall look of the show reminds me a lot of Ghost in the Shell. I would be surprised if this was entirely by coincidence.

Something to Look Forward to: “Ainbo” Animated Film

On Pinterest today I happened upon a poster (see above) for an upcoming 3D animated film called Ainbo. From what I can gather, this film was originally planned to be released in 2019, but it is now scheduled to be released in 2021 instead. You can check out an official teaser trailer for it below.

Put succinctly, Ainbo is the story of a young native girl from the jungles of South America, and her journey to save her home, which is being threatened by civilisation. From a purely personal point of view, I think it Ainbo has the potential to be a really fun film. And I say that for three reasons. Firstly, it’s about a jungle girl, and I’m a big fan of stories about jungle girls. Secondly, the animation looks top notch and very cute (in a Disney-like way). Thirdly, it is mainly being produced by a Peruvian studio (Tunche Films), which puts it somewhere close to my heart.

Unfortunately, Ainbo doesn’t seem to have an official website at the moment (the link provided by IMDB is dead) but if I come across more information about it in the future, I’ll write a follow-up post to this one. But for now, au revoir, arrivederci and may the force be with you!😊
