Today’s Daily Heroine is: Kira, from the American fantasy film The Dark Crystal, which was released in 1982. There are not too many fantasy films around, and even fewer good ones, but The Dark Crystal is my favourite film in this genre. And a big reason for that is Kira. I think she is a wonderful character: she is very sweet and caring, but she is also incredibly courageous.😊 The Dark Crystal was of course created by the great puppeteer Jim Henson, so Kira was not played by a person, but by a puppet (which was operated by Kathryn Mullen and voiced by Lisa Maxwell, who gave Kira one of the sweetest voices I have ever heard😍). However, in instances where a puppet was impractical, she is played by a live actor (Kiran Shah).
