Daily Heroine: Sara Crewe

Today’s Daily Heroine is: Sara Crewe from the 1905 children’s novel A Little Princess, by the British-born American writer Frances Hodgson Burnett. The cover you can see is from the 1995 film tie-in version of A Little Princess, which is when I first read Sara’s story. For me, Sara is the absolutely perfect heroine. She is intelligent, compassionate and imaginative. But most important of all, she has an admirable inner strength that allows her to overcome the misfortune that life sends her way. It may be sheer coincidence, but I find that many of the heroines I create end up resembling Sara Crewe to some degree.🙂

I’m always on the look out for new interesting and likeable heroines, so if you have a particular favourite, please tell me about her! Till tomorrow, au revoir, arrivederci and may the force be with you.😊
