Kasumi (from “DOA”) figma Out in July!

Today, Good Smile Company announced that a figma of Kasumi, the main protagonist of the DEAD OR ALIVE fighting game franchise, is going to be produced by MAX Factory. For those that may be unaware, “figma” is a Japanese brand of high quality, but non-scale, action figures..This particular Kasumi figma really looks like it’s going to be a fantastic. And look at the size of those breasts! I’m not really into over-sized breasts, but these do look impressive. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a figma with a more endowed chest!😄

It’s interesting that Kasumi is wearing her original costume. The reason for this, as strange as it may seem, is that this figma appears to be an homage to another figure; the one known as “Kasumi C2 ver.”, a 1/6th scale figure which was released way back in 2004.

The “Kasumi C2 ver.” figure looks exactly like the one pictured above, however this figure is a smaller sized (1/20th scale, to be exact) plastic model version of the 2004 figure. It was released by Max Factory in November last year and being priced at ¥3000, I think it was relatively inexpensive, for what is a very nice-looking figure. The upcoming figma version, however, will retail for ¥7800, which is on the expensive side, for a figma.

Since this Kasumi figma is simply based on a classic figure from yesteryear, I think it’s safe to say that this is just a one-off DOA figma. I would love to think that there will be other DOA figmas released in the future, but I don’t want to be disappointed. When the Chris Redfield (from the Resident Evil franchise) Nendoroid was announced, I desperately hoped a Jill Valentine Nendoroid would follow. Alas, that was not the case. But I digress. For the those who are interested, the Kasumi figma will be out in July, but stores have started taking orders for it from today (January 25). Till next time, au revoir, arrivederci and may the force be with you!😊
